Dear Booster Club Members, Golf Tournament Participants and Supporters:

The booster club would like to extend it's heartfelt thanks for making this year's Barracuda Diamond Classic one of the most successful tournaments in our 6 years.  Despite a challenging economic environment, we surpassed our goal.  While there are many folks to thank, the Golf Committee would like to give special thanks to Publix, Deloitte, Doral Golf and Country Club, BNY/United Mellon, Intelligent Business Solutions,  Palmetto Ford, Ellie Mills State Farm and McLuskey & McDonald, PA.   Please remember to consider these folks when doing business in their respective areas.  As a volunteer organization, such success could not have been realized without these fine folks and the tireless efforts of our golf committee and various volunteers.

Once again, congratulations.

Prez. Bill

Our School

At Coral Reef Senior High School, the Barracuda baseball program, supported by the Barracuda Diamond Club booster organization, is embarking on a mission to provide its student-athletes with a "Harvard" education in interscholastic sports. In the pursuit of excellence we are striving to integrate superior academic achievement and athletic success.

Academically, Coral Reef Senior High provides all the options for academic advancement and post-secondary preparation. The quality of education here at Coral Reef is recognized throughout the nation as superior. The past two years Coral Reef was ranked among the top public high schools in the country by Newsweek Magazine. Complementing this environment, the coaching staff is committed to providing the baseball student-athlete an exceptional extracurricular sporting experience. Of course, the demands are very high, and due to the limited number of roster spots, students are expected to be motivated to attain such standards. Players must meet academic requirements to remain active.

Our Booster Club

The Barracuda Diamond Club is the official booster club of the Coral Reef baseball program, and we appreciate everyone becoming active and involved in the job of building our program.

In efforts to professionalize our program, all participants contribute in a variety of fundraising activities. The centerpiece of that fundraising effort is the annual baseball yearbook supported by the solicitation of advertisement. Beyond that, participants are required to attend team meetings and practices. It is expected that every player who becomes involved will help elevate the Coral Reef baseball program to a position of pride in the social fabric of the school and the community. It is hoped that the baseball program will provide a model of excellence as well as promote all participants to the intercollegiate level if they so desire.

Our Teams

Freshman.  The Booster Club sponsors a 16-and-under team, composed mainly of ninth graders, playing in the local CABA League. This team is the critical first step for youngsters new to Coral Reef. We generally try to hold an orientation meeting for all potential players and parents sometime in mid- to late May.  We will then decide if a summer training program can be implemented for the benefit of players not participating in summer leagues or travel teams.  Interested players should contact Head Coach Bisceglia for detailed information. Once school starts in fall, it has been customary to hold tryouts for the booster sponsored CABA fall team which starts in early September and runs through December.  Then, again in January, the spring season requires separate tryouts and runs from the end of January to the end of April.

Junior Varsity. A Junior Varsity team is comprised of outstanding freshmen as well as sophomores and juniors. Open tryouts are held each year in January when official practice begins.

Varsity. Participation on the Varsity team is open to all grades but is primarily comprised of veteran players who have contributed on the previous levels. Limited participation requires that all prospective players be evaluated during a tryout period.

Fall Travel Leagues. The booster club sponsors 3 travel teams: an 18-and-under team in the Pinstripe League, and 18-and-under and 16-and-under teams in the local USSSA league.
